What is Team
1099?
Team 1099 is made up of
high school students from Brookfield and Bethel High
Schools. We also have members who are from Broadview Middle School
in Danbury. Students meet once a week during the fall and spring
to learn about robots, leadership skills, team building, fundraising
and public relations. During January until the middle of February
the students meet every night and on weekends to actually design
and
build a robot that will meet the challenge for that year. They also
create a web site, an animation, The Chairman’s Award Entry (a
summary of what we have accomplished for the year) to name a few.

Come and See Us
Compete
The next competition is
March 15-17, 2007 from 9am-5pm at the Connecticut Convention Center
in Hartford. It is open to the public and FREE of charge. Team 1099
is eligible to participate in the International Championship in
Atlanta, Georgia on April 12-14, 2007; however, we do not have the
funds to go. We estimate it would cost $20,000 to send our team
and
robot for three days plus the $5,000 entry fee. Any individual
and/or corporation interested in sponsoring us please contact us
ASAP.
